Abstract:

In this elevator device, a suspended body abnormality detection device (17) detects breakage or over-stretching of suspended bodies (4) as an abnormality of said suspended bodies (4). In this case, the suspended body abnormality detection device (17) detects by distinguishing whether the degree of abnormality of said suspended bodies is a level one, or a level two that is higher than level one. If a level-one abnormality in the suspended bodies (4) occurs, a control unit (14) moves and stops a car (5) at any floor at which the car (5) stops, inputs an activation signal to a governor cable-gripping device (18) and performs operations to offload passengers, after which the control unit (14) moves the car downward to activate a car emergency stop device (13).
