Abstract:
The present invention pertains to an elevator device provided with one or more pairs of first hoists (3A, 3B) installed at one end section of an elevator hoistway (7), and further provided with second hoists (4A, 4B) installed at the outer upper end and/or the outer lower end of a cage (1) so as to travel up and down with the cage (1), the number of second hoists (4A, 4B) being at least the same number as that of the first hoists (3A, 3B). One end of a wire is linked to the upper end of a counterweight (2A, 2B), sections partway along the wire are wound around a drum of the first hoists (3A, 3B) and wound around a drum of the second hoists (4A, 4B), and the other end of the wire is linked to the lower end of the counterweight (2A, 2B), forming an overall configuration of an annular wire line. The second hoists (4A, 4B) self-travel along the wire and complement the first hoists (3A, 3B), whereby power consumption can be reduced.
