Abstract:
An elevator system including: an elevator drive mechanism and an elevator car, the elevator car moving with the elevator drive mechanism and the elevator drive mechanism driving movement of the elevator drive mechanism and the elevator car; and a flexible coupling arrangement between the elevator drive mechanism and the elevator car, the flexible coupling arrangement permitting a limited range of at least one of lateral and vertical movement of the elevator car with respect to the elevator drive mechanism so as to provide at least partial vibration isolation between the elevator drive mechanism and the elevator car.
