An end face working device and a tube manufacturing method capable of achieving both increased productivity and working accuracy. The device comprises a rotatable chuck holding near one end of an oil well pipe (LP), a thread cutting machine (12) disposed near the chuck and having a working tool capable of controlling the relative position thereof to one end part of the oil well pipe (LP) rotating together with the chuck and support devices (13) supporting the other part of the rotating oil well pipe (LP) while following up the oil well pipe (LP). The support devices (13) comprise four support rollers (13a)/(13b) and (13c)/ (13d) disposed on both sides of the oil well pipe (LP) and formed in a pair by vertical two rollers, and air cylinders (13e) and (13f) individually moving the support rollers (13a)/(13b) and (13c)/(13d) formed in a pair by the vertical two rollers integrally with each other so as to be close to and apart from the oil well pipe (LP). Since the oil well pipe can be supported with an optimum force and, even if productivity is increased by increasing a working speed, the vibration of the oil well pipe is not propagated to a working part, both productivity and working accuracy can be increased.
