Abstract:
Provided is an endoscope apparatus with improved controllability in moving a movable lens of an objective optical system in a scanning section of an endoscope to a predetermined plurality of step positions. The objective optical system in an observation section of the endoscope has a zoom function, and the movable lens, which is used for changing zoom magnification, is controlled such that the lens can be moved only to the plurality of step positions (SP1 to SP4), which are assigned to specific zoom magnifications. A control circuit for controlling the movable lens takes into account the number (N) of repetitions and the duration of an on-operation performed on a zoom switch for instructing movement of the movable lens. For example, the lens is moved by steps corresponding to the number (N) of repetitions of the on-operation or is moved to an end step position when the duration of the on-operation is long.
