Abstract:
An endoscope comprises: an imaging element in which a color filter having two or more colors is positioned at an imaging position in a prescribed arrangement pattern; and a correction processing unit configured so that when pixel values at nearby imaging locations near to an imaging position of interest within image data outputted from the imaging element are used as nearby pixel values, the nearby imaging positions including at least two nearest imaging positions that are located closest to the imaging position of interest so as to sandwich the imaging position of interest and are in the same row along one direction as the imaging position of interest, among imaging positions of the color filter that are in said row and show the same color as the color filter at the imaging position of interest, a process for modifying the pixel value of interest at the imaging position of interest to a median value of the nearby pixel values and the pixel value of interest is repeatedly performed while modifying the imaging position of interest.
