Abstract:
This endoscopic system is connected to a magnetic field detection element that detects the magnetic field, acquires the frequency characteristics of a circuit network that outputs a detection signal according to the magnetic field detected by the magnetic field detection element, generates a normalization waveform by correcting, according to the frequency characteristics, the differential waveform obtained by differentiating the drive waveform of a magnetic field generating element that has generated the magnetic field, derives the strength of the magnetic field by normalizing the detection signal output from the circuit network with the normalization waveform, and uses the strength of the magnetic field to detect an insertion state including at least one of the position and shape of the insertion part of the endoscope to be inserted into a subject.
