Abstract:
Provided is an engine cover having a novel structure and capable of achieving shock absorbing performance during impact and of avoiding contact with vehicle members, in a compact space. The engine cover (10) has: a cover main body (12) covering the upper section of an engine (46); and an attachment section (14) that protrudes from the cover main body (12) towards the engine (46) and is attached to the engine (46) side. The engine cover (10) is configured such that: the cover main body (12) and the attachment section (14) are integrally formed from polyurethane; a fragile section (20) is provided above the perimeter of the attachment section (14); and the attachment section (14) can deform in a specified direction), as a result of the fragile section (20), when a load is applied to the cover main body (12).
