Abstract:

In an engine-driven electric generator constituted by supporting an engine (3) and an electric generator (4) driven by this engine (3) on a frame (2), the frame is constituted by integrally connecting the lower sides of a pair of side frames (2b, 2b), in the form of steel pipes bent in U-shape, to each other by a cross member (7). To the open ends of the two side frames (2b, 2b) is attached a control box (34) which connects the open ends to each other to reinforce the frame (2) and which receives and holds electric components (53, 55). An assembly consisting of the engine (3) and electric generator (4) is elastically supported on the cross member (7). Thus, the construction of the frame in the engine-driven electric generator is simplified and the control box receiving and supporting the electric components reinforces the frame, enabling weight reduction of the frame.
