Abstract:
The present invention provides an engine unit with an MT-type shift pedal, which can be reduced in size in the axial direction and longitudinal direction of a crankshaft, and which has a left shift pedal provided to the left of a crankcase. The engine unit with an MT-type shift pedal comprises a load-fluctuating four-stroke engine, a manual transmission, a left shift pedal, a manual clutch lever, a clutch lever position sensor, a brushless motor, a motor driver, and a control device. The brushless motor is provided to a left-end part of the crankshaft so that a front-end part of the brushless motor is positioned farther forward in a vehicle longitudinal direction than the left shift pedal and at least part of the brushless motor overlaps the left shift pedal in a vehicle width direction. The control device starts up the load-fluctuating four-stroke engine lubricated with low-viscosity oil by causing the brushless motor to run on the basis of a detection result from the clutch lever position sensor.
