Abstract:
 The purpose of the present invention is to improve and stabilize the pullout strength of a metal steel wire comprising a center element wire and a plurality of strands with respect to a thermoplastic resin in an escalator handrail in which the metal steel wire is used. This escalator handrail (30) is characterized in that a metal steel wire (3) is provided with a center element wire (8) and a plurality of strands (9) disposed so as to surround the center element wire (8), the distance between the center element wire (8) and the strands (9) being identical at each position in the direction in which the center element wire (8) and the strands (9) extend, and a thermoplastic resin (10) being packed between the center element wire (8) and the strands (9) without forming any voids.
