Abstract:
[Problem] Provided is an ester which is for a refrigerator oil and can achieve excellent refrigerant compatibility, when used in combination with a non-chlorine-based refrigerant. [Solution] This ester for a refrigerator oil comprises an ester reaction product of component (A), component (B) and component (C). With respect to the 1.0 mol of a constituent component derived from component (A), the amount of a constituent component derived from component (B) is 0.02-0.4 mol, the amount of a constituent component derived from component (C) is 3.2-3.96 mol, and formula (1) is satisfied. (A) is a pentaerythritol, (B) is a linear divalent carboxylic acid having 4-10 carbon atoms, and (C) is a monovalent carboxylic acid having 4-10 carbon atoms. (1): α≤peak group (a)/peak group (b)≤β(1), (2): α=-10×(number of moles of constituent component derived from component (B))+6.5, and (3): β=−10×(the number of moles of constituent component derived from component (B))+7.5. (Peak group (a) is the sum of peak areas obtained by a gas chromatography as observed at a retention time of 28-40 minutes, and peak group (b) is the sum of peak areas obtained by the gas chromatography as observed at a retention time of 40-60 minutes.)
