Abstract:
The application relates to a fabric for a table linen textile. The fabric comprising warp yarns configured to form a warp, the warp yarns comprising polyester, and filling yarns configured to form a filling. The warp and filling being woven according to a twill or satin weave, where each filling yarn repeats a sequence by passing under at least one warp yarn and passing over at least one warp yarn sequentially. The warp yarns comprising twisted filament polyester yarns in the twill weave, or twisted polyester staple fiber yarns or twisted polyester low pilling staple fiber yarns in the satin weave for increasing a durability of the fabric.

Claims

1 . A fabric (100, 102) for a table linen textile comprising

warp yarns (1 12, 132) configured to form a warp (1 10, 130), the warp yarns comprising polyester, and

filling yarns (122) configured to form a filling (120),

the warp and filling being woven according to a twill or satin weave, where each filling yarn (122) repeats a sequence by passing under at least one warp yarn (1 12, 132) and passing over at least one warp yarn (1 12, 132) sequentially, characterized in that

the warp yarns comprising twisted filament polyester yarns (1 12) in the twill weave, or twisted polyester staple fiber yarns (132) or twisted polyester low pilling staple fiber yarns (132) in the satin weave for increasing a durability of the fabric.

2. The fabric of claim 1 , where the filling yarns comprise rotor spun twisted polyester-cotton yarns, which comprise cotton for preventing a static electricity of the fabric.

3. The fabric of any of preceding claims, where the warp and filling yarns are processed by at least one polytetrafluoroethylene compound for improving a dirt- repellency of the fabric.

4. The fabric of any of preceding claims, where a density of the warp yarns is at least 30 yarns/cm and a density of the filling yarns is about 20 yarns/cm.

5. A table linen textile comprising the fabric (100) according to any of claims 1 -4

6. The table linen textile of claim 5, which is a tablecloth, a placemat, a runner, or a napkin.

Description:
FABRIC FOR A TABLE LINEN TEXTILE

Technical field

The application relates generally to a fabric for a table line textile. Background Table linen textiles, e.g. tablecloths and placemats, are used for practical reasons in order to cover a surface of a dining table and to cover other table linen textiles. In addition, the table linen textiles facilitate and quicken a cleaning and a re-sitting of the dining table after a dining, when it is possible to just remove unclean table linen textiles and to place clean ones on the dining table. In addition, the table linen textiles are used for creating individual look of the dining table by means of different kind of colours and patterns.

Cotton has been very popular material in table linen textiles, but cotton table linen textiles suffer a poor dirt-repellency.

In order to improve the dirt-reprellency, it has developed a table linen fabric, where it is used polyester in its warp and filling.

However, even if the developed polyester table linen fabric has the improved dirt- repellency, a table linen textile made of such polyester table linen fabric has a poor usability and serviceability, and it loses its shape quite rapidly in normal use.

The preceding drawbacks have limited significantly the usability of the existing ta- ble linen fabrics.

Summary

One object of the invention is to withdraw the above-mentioned drawbacks and provide a dirt-repellent fabric for table linen textiles, which is possible to print rapidly and profitable by a client-specific pattern and colouring, which fulfils require- ments of an industrial washing, and which has an improved durability of chemical and mechanical stains existing in use and in the industrial washing.

One object of the invention is fulfilled by providing a fabric of claim 1 and a table linen textile of claim 5. According to one embodiment of the invention, a fabric for a table linen textile comprising warp yarns configured to form a warp, the warp yarns comprising polyester, and filling yarns configured to form a filling. The warp and filling being woven according to a twill or satin weave, where each filling yarn repeats a sequence by passing under at least one warp yarn and passing over at least one warp yarn se- quentially.The warp yarns comprising twisted filament polyester yarns in the twill weave, or twisted polyester staple fiber yarns or twisted polyester low pilling staple fiber yarns in the satin weave for increasing a durability of the fabric.

According to one embodiment of the invention, a table linen textile comprising a fabric that comprises a warp yarns configured to form a warp, the warp yarns comprising polyester, and filling yarns configured to form a filling. The warp and filling being woven according to a twill or satin weave, where each filling yarn repeats a sequence by passing under at least one warp yarn and passing over at least one warp yarn sequentially.The warp yarns comprising twisted filament poly- ester yarns in the twill weave, or twisted polyester staple fiber yarns or twisted polyester low pilling staple fiber yarns in the satin weave for increasing a durability of the fabric.

Further embodiments of the invention are defined in dependent claims.

The verb "to comprise" is used in this document as an open limitation that neither excludes nor requires the existence of also unrecited features. The verbs "to include" and "to have/has" are defined as to comprise.

The terms "a", "an" and "at least one", as used herein, are defined as one or more than one and the term "plurality" is defined as two or more than two.

The term "another", as used herein, is defined as at least a second or more. The term "or" is generally employed in its sense comprising "and/or" unless the content clearly dictates otherwise.

For the above-mentioned defined verbs and terms, these definitions shall be applied, unless a different definition is given in the claims or elsewhere in this description/specification. Finally, the features recited in depending claims are mutually freely combinable unless otherwise explicitly stated. Brief description of the figures

The embodiments of the invention will be described with reference to the accompanying figures, in which figure 1 a illustrates a principle view and a cross-section of a twill weave, and

figure 1 b illustrates a principle view and a cross-section of a satin weave.

Detailed description of the figures

Figure 1 a illustrates principle and cross-section views of a twill weave of a fabric 100, which can be used in table linen textiles, e.g. in tableclothes, placemats, run- ners, or napkins. The fabric 100 can be e.g. Tefi Oy's Wizard Twill -fabric, which is made of by means of the twill weave.

The fabric 100 comprising twisted filament polyester yarns 1 12, which are 100% polyester and which are twisted at least 250 rounds/m, e.g. 250, 300, 350, 400, 450, or 500 rounds/m. The filament yarns 1 12 form a warp 1 10 and enable to pro- vide a thick and smooth surface of the fabric 100, which comprises mostly polyester, so that it is possible to print a desired user-specific pattern and colouring by means of a sublimation printing technique. In addition, the polyester-intensive surface facilitates a cleaning of the surface.

The fabric 100 also comprising filling yarns 122, e.g. rotor spun twisted polyester- cotton yarns comprising e.g. 35, 50, 55, 65, or 80% of cotton, rotor spun twisted cotton yarns comprising 100% of cotton, or some other yarns capable of absorbing moisture. If the filling yarns 122 comprising e.g. 35% of cotton, then, the whole fabric 100 comprises 10-20% of cotton, e.g. 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, or 20%, which is used for preventing a static electricity of the fabric 100 during a mangling, when the fabric 100 is in service. The filling yarns 122 form a filling 120.

The warp 1 10 and filling 120 have been woven according to the twill weave, where each filling yarn 122 repeats a sequence by passing under four filament yarns 1 12, alternatively under e.g. 2, 3, or 5 filament yarns 1 12, and, then, passing over one filament yarn 1 12, alternatively over e.g. 2 or 3 filament yarns 1 12, sequentially as one can see from the cross-section of the fabric 100 in the figure. Next filling yarn 122 repeats the same sequence, but shifts one filament yarn 1 12 sideway and, thus, creates a diagonal pattern. A dirt-repellency of the fabric 100 is provided by processing the filament and filling yarns 1 12, 122 by at least one polytetrafluoroethylene compound. Normally, the dirt-repellency processing decreases a friction between the warp and filling yarns 1 12, 122, which poses easily damages to the fabric 100 during its use and service. However, the filament yarns 1 12 provide a sufficient mechanical friction between the filament yarns 1 12 and filling yarns 122 of the filling 120 so that a durability of the fabric 100 increases, when its durability of e.g. an industrial washing improves.

In addition, the friction between the filament and filling yarns 1 12, 122 provides that the fabric 100 is easy to process in feeding and folding devices, whereupon it does not pose disturbances and production pauses.

A weight of the fabric 100 is e.g. 220-280 g/m 2 . A density of the filament yarns 122 in the fabric 100 is e.g. at least 30 yarns/cm, e.g. 30, 35, 40, 45, or 50 yarns/cm, and a density of the filling yarns 122 is e.g. about 20 yarns/cm, e.g. 16, 18, 20, 22, or 24 yarns/cm. Figure 1 b illustrates principle and cross-section views of a satin weave of a fabric 102, which can be used e.g. in tableclothes, placemats, runners, or napkins. The fabric 102 can be e.g. Tefi Oy's Stella Satine -fabric, which is made of by means of the satin weave.

The fabric 102 comprising warp yarns 132, e.g. twisted polyester staple fiber yarns or twisted polyester low pilling staple fiber yarns, which are 100% polyester. The fiber yarns 132 form a warp 130 and enable to provide a surface of the fabric 102, which comprises mostly polyester, so that it is possible to use the sublimation printing technique and the surface is easy to clean.

The fiber yarns 132 provide a cotton-like and matt-coated texture and appearance of the fabric 102, which achieve a sophisticated printing result. In addition, low pilling fiber yarns 132 prevent a pilling of the surface of the fabric 102.

The fabric 102 also comprising filling yarns 122, e.g. rotor spun twisted polyester- cotton yarns comprising e.g. 35, 50, 55, 65, or 80% of cotton, rotor spun twisted cotton yarns comprising 100% of cotton, or some other yarns capable of absorbing moisture. The filling yarns 122 form a filling 120.

The warp 130 and filling 120 have been woven according to the satin weave, where each filling yarn 122 repeats a sequence by passing under four fiber yarns 132, alternatively under e.g. 2, 3, or 5 fiber yarns 132, and, then, passing over one fiber yarn 132, alternatively over e.g. 2 or 3 fiber yarns 132, sequentially as one can see from the cross-section of the fabric 102 in the figure. Next filling yarn 122 repeats the same sequence, but shifts two fiber yarn 132 sideway and creates a diagonal pattern.

The dirt-repellency of the fabric 102 is provided by the at least one polytetrafluoro- ethylene compound, but the fiber yarns 132 provide the sufficient mechanical friction between the fiber and filling yarns 132, 122 so that the durability of the fabric 102 increases. In addition, the fabric 102 is easy to process because of the fric- tion.

A weight of the fabric 102 is e.g. 240-280 g/m 2 . A density of the fiber yarns 132 is e.g. at least 30 yarns/cm, e.g. 30, 35, 40, 45, or 50 yarns/cm, and a density of the filling yarns 122 is e.g. about 20 yarns/cm, e.g. 1 6, 18, 20, 22, or 24 yarns/cm.

A used ratio of the warp and filling densities depends on a thickness of used warp and filling yarns 1 12, 132, 122. The proper ratio of the warp and filling densities enables to provide the warp-intensive front surface and a filling-intensive back surface in the fabric 100, 102, which mean the excellent printing result, dirt- repellency, and durability.

The filling-intensive back surface provides sufficient moisture into the fabric 100, 102 so that it prevents the static electricity, which causes a production pauses, in the feeding and folding devices, prevents a slipping of the fabric 100, 102 in mangling and folding devices, and keeps the fabric 100, 102 as erected.

In addition, fabrics 100, 102 can be used in working clothes, e.g. coats and aprons. The invention has been now explained above with reference to the aforesaid embodiments and the several advantages of the invention have been demonstrated. It is clear that the invention is not only restricted to these embodiments, but comprises all possible embodiments within the spirit and scope of the invention thought and the following claims.
