Abstract:
The present invention provides a ferrite particle comprising: a ferrite particle main body that has a spinel-type crystal structure attributed to a space group Fd-3m, in which the spinel composition is represented by the specific formula (1); and a coating layer that has a spinel-type crystal structure attributed to a space group Fd-3m and coats the surface of the ferrite particle main body. In the ferrite particle, the coating layer is a layer produced by heat-treating a ferrite represented by the specific formula (1), the content ratio of the coating layer in the ferrite particle is 5 to 35% by mass inclusive when determined by the Rietveld analysis of a powder X-ray diffraction pattern, and the ferrite particle satisfies the specific formula (2). The present invention also provides: a carrier for an electrophotographic developer; and others.
