Abstract:
Disclosed is a fiber optic link detection method. The method can be applied in an optical communication network. The optical communication network comprises a first network device and a second network device. A first interface of the first network device communicates with a second interface of the second network device via a first fiber optic link. Both the first network device and the second network device support a PTP. The first network device is a slave device, and the second network device is a master device. When the first interface of the first network device performs time synchronization with the second interface of the second network device using the PTP, if the first fiber optic link comprises a third network device which does not support the PTP, the accuracy of time synchronization is affected. In embodiments of the present application, the first network device can determine whether the first fiber optic link comprises a third network device which does not support the PTP. When it is determined that the first fiber optic link comprises the third network device, a corresponding measure can be further taken to improve the accuracy of time synchronization.
