Abstract:
Provided are: filaments for obtaining a beverage extraction filter which is highly safe environmentally, can retain the strength of the fabric, and has excellent formability; and woven fabric obtained therefrom. The filaments are core-sheath composite filaments for a beverage extraction filter that comprise a core ingredient, which comprises a homopolyester having a melting point of 220°C or higher, and a sheath ingredient, which comprises a copolyester having a melting point lower by at least 40°C than that of the core ingredient and obtained mainly from terephthalic acid and a diol. Through 1-hour boiling in an aqueous ethanol solution having a concentration of 10 mass%, the filaments have a mass change of 4% or less and have an amount of released heavy metals less than 0.1 ppm.
