Description:
DESCRIPTION

FILM CUTTING AND STORAGE BOX

Technical Field

Present invention is related to a film cutting and storage box that cuts roll form films especially flexible films like stretch films in desired dimensions.

Prior Art

Some tools, which direct roll form films to a cutting edge, have been developed in order to cut the stretch and similar films in desired dimensions.

In document numbered FR2909081A1, a cutting tool is explained which works in a way that pulling the film from mouth of the chamber results in tension of the film and afterwards the film was cut by pressing the film onto this cutting tool.

In the document numbered CN201665447U, a cutting tool is explained that includes a knife on a lid, walls on each side of the knife and two walls on opposite side which helps to cut when pressed between these walls. In the document numbered WO2014082233A1, a cutting tool is explained that cuts a film which extended over a sill by a knife on a lid when this knife is pressured between two walls on the opposite side.

The aim and brief description of the invention

Aim of present invention is to develop a film cutting and storage box that provide cutting of flexible films like stretch films in a proper way and storing this film without heaping together on its own which is ready for the next cut.

For the purposes of present invention three bodies were developed. First body carries the roll form film, second body closes over the first body and during closure it presses the part of the film, which was separated from the roll to be cut, over the cutter knife on the first body, and third body transmits the film in a tense form to the cutter part as well as prevents heaping together backward. Thanks to the curved structure of the third body, the film was stretched on the third body during cutting process and the film stays on the third body instead of heaping together after cutting.

The film cutting and storage box which was developed in the scope of present invention can be manufactured in a lump and without using of core. Description of the Figures that Define the Present Invention

Detailed Explanation of the Present Invention

The film cutting and storage box (1) which cuts roll form films in desired dimensions basically includes: - First body (2) which carries the roll form film,

Second body (3) which binds to the first body and can rotate around the first body, so with this rotation motion second body (2) can press the roll separated part of the film to the cutting edge of the first body (2) in order to cut the film,

Third body (4) which resides in the volume between the first body (2) and second body (3), and holds the roll separated part of the film,

A knife (5) that is placed in one of the cutting parts, and

Tension walls in the cutting parts which is located on sides of the knife (5).

One of the positions of second body (3), while the motion during it turns around the first body (2), is intersection of its edges. In this position, which will be mentioned as closed position in the explanations of invention, the film cutting and storage box (1) cuts the film as well as provides preservation of the film to protect against outer environment.

Third body (4) resides between the second body (3) and the roll film which is carried by the first body (2). Third body (4) stretches roll separated part of the film while keeping it away from the roll surface. Therefore, third body (4) possesses a tension edge (6) whose distance to the roll axis is greater than the maximum radius of the roll. Besides third body (4) contain a holding surface (7) which lies along a convex curve between the tension edge (6) and closed position tip of inner wall.

According to the prior art, stretched film to be cut on the third body (4), after the cutting operation the cut edge is released and accumulated through the tension edge

(6) . However in this invention third body (4), which possesses a holding surface (7), prevents accumulation of the cut film. Thanks to the curved structure of holding surface

(7) , film is sitting on the holding surface (7) during the cutting operation. Thus, after the release of the cutter edge of the film, with the friction between holding surface (7) and film, mustering of the film is prevented. After cutting process, film remaining on the holding surface (7) can easily be prepared for next cutting by holding by a user.

In a preferred embodiment of present invention, knife (5) is placed upon the first body (2). In a closed position on the second body (3), two first tension wall (8) is at the sides of the knife (5) are present. First tension walls (5) compress the film towards the knife (5) during cutting process. I n closed position upon the first body (2), second tension walls (9) with the same dimension of the knife (5) are present. Second tension walls (9) allow the perpendicular and tense holding of the film which is compressed by first tension walls (8) to the knife (5). In closed position upon the second body (3) a third tension wall (10) which is located near the second tension walls (9) and with the same size of first tension walls (8) are present. The second tension walls (9) which came between the first tension walls (8) and third tension walls (10) causes deformation in the extremities of these walls by stretching the film. With the help of aforementioned deformation, the immobility of the film for cutting during the closure of second body (3) is ensured. This immobility is equally important for the internal or roll side of the knife (5) and the film that remain at outside. If the afore said immobility situation will not reflected to both sides in a balanced way, cut can be curvilinear and angular rather than straight. Thus, the heights of the tension wall components in the interior and exterior sides are equal in a way that the total film length they cut will be equal to each other.

Besides the stretching effect that is created by the equality of tension walls, it is also required that the pulling motion that is applied by the user must be produced equally by film cutting and storage box. For that purpose, in order to take advantage of the friction effect that is created by convexity of third body (4) that allows the film to reach to internal tension walls, the internal third tension wall (10) is compressed tangently to third body (4). There are roll beds (11) at the internal surface of the first body (2) and third bodies (4) surface that faces the first body (2). Roll beds (11) hold the roll shaped film from its extremities in a way that allow the free rotation of the film.

In order to place the roll carrying the roll shaped film in to the film cutting and storage box (1), the third body (4) can be opened after the opening of the second body (3). To allow the opening, third body (4) can be attached to first body (2) in a way that it can rotate around a side of the first body (2) or in a way that first body (2) can be removed from the position it is engaged. After the placement of the roll carrying the film in to film cutting and storage box (1), for stabilization, locking device that engages the third body (4) to first body (2) can be used. Locking elements are at least one locking protrusion (13) that sits on locking hole (12) and placed upon third body (4) and at least one locking hole (12) thst preferably be located on the first body (2).

In order to use the film cutting and storage box (1) on a surface like counter, it can include legs (14) connected to first body (2). Film cutting and storage box (1) also can included grooves (15) located on the first body (2) for facilitating it's on hand usage by a user.

Film cutting and storage box (1) preferably includes a first body (2)i a second body (3) and a third body (4) preferably manufactured from plastic in a sing lump. During manufacture, core usage is not required. In the Figure 9 and Figure 11, a mutually manufactured first body (2), second body (3) and third body (4) is shown. For the production of film cutting and storage box (1) first the third body (4) and the second body (3) is folded over the first body (2) after removing from the lump. Fold lines form the parts of the second body (3) and third body (4) that is attached to first body (2) in way that allow their rotation according to first body (2).
