Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a flame retardant composition that can be used without coagulation for a long period of time and in which the odor caused by Tsunomata (Chondrus ocellatus) glue is suppressed. [Solution] This flame retardant composition contains boric acid or a borate salt, Tsunomata glue, zeolite powder, and water. The composition also may contain lime. The composition may contain one type or a combination of two or more types of aluminum powder, copper powder and silver powder. The composition preferably contains, based on the total amount of the composition, 5-35 mass% of boric acid or borate salt, 1-10 mass% of Tsunomata glue, 0.3-35 mass% of zeolite powder, 0.5-10 mass% of slaked lime, 0.3-3 mass % of one type or a combination of two or more types of aluminum powder, copper powder and silver powder, and 50-85 mass% of water.
