Abstract:

A surface loudspeaker array (101) uses a plurality of sound sources, such as flat panel or planar magnetic transducers (150), that are mounted on either a flat or a curved surface to produce a substantially controlled sound dispersion in both the horizontal and vertical planes. The sound sources are mounted in rows and the rows are secured together to allow splaying in the vertical plane to a preset angle defined between rows.
