Abstract:
A fluid dynamic pressure bearing device 1 is provided with: an inner member 4 having a small-diameter section 2 and a large-diameter section 3; an outer member 5 for accommodating the large-diameter section 3; a radial bearing section R for radially supporting the inner member 4 by means of a film of a lubricating fluid, which, when the inner member 4 rotates relative to the outer member 5, is formed in the diametral gap between the outer peripheral surface 9d of the large-diameter section 3 and the inner peripheral surface 6a3 of the outer member 5; and first and second thrust bearing sections T1, T2 for axially supporting the inner member by means of films of lubricating fluid, each of which, when the inner member 4 rotates relative to the outer member 5, is formed in one of a first axial gap between a first end surface 9b of the large-diameter section 3 and a first end surface 6b1 of the outer member 5, and a second axial gap between a second end surface 9c of the large-diameter section 3 and a second end surface 7b of the outer member 5, the first end surface 9b and the first end surface 6b1 axially facing each other, the second end surface 9c and the second end surface 7b axially facing each other. Thrust dynamic pressure generation sections 10, 11 which generate the dynamic pressure actions of the lubricating fluid are respectively provided to the first end surface 9b of the large-diameter section 3 or the first end surface 6b1 of the outer member 5, and to the second end surface 9c of the large-diameter section 3 or the second end surface 7b of the outer member 5. The outer peripheral surface 9d of the large-diameter section 3 and the inner peripheral surface 6a3 of the outer member 5 are circular cylindrical surfaces not having radial dynamic pressure generation sections.
