Abstract:
A fluorescence excitation light source device that comprises a phosphor that emits fluorescence as a result of being irradiated with laser light, a light transmission part that is opposite the phosphor, an optical intensity conversion part that is provided to the light transmission part and comprises a microlens array, a first lens that is provided to the light transmission part, and a second lens that is opposite the first lens. The light transmission part has: a first principal surface that is opposite a light emission surface of the phosphor; and a second principal surface that is on the reverse side from the first principal surface. The optical intensity conversion part: comprises a microlens array that is provided to the first principal surface of the light transmission part; and equalizes the optical intensity distribution of the fluorescence. The first lens is provided to the second principal surface of the light transmission part. The second lens is located on the opposite side of the first lens from the phosphor. The first lens and the second lens convert the spread angle of the fluorescence emitted from the phosphor. The fluorescence excitation light source device makes it possible for the size of the optical intensity conversion part to be reduced.
