Abstract:
Disclosed is a set of colloidal silica particles each containing a fluorescent dye compound. Each of the colloidal silica particles comprises a fluorescent dye compound and a silica component chemically bound to or adsorbed onto the fluorescent dye compound and has at least one fluorescent dye compound dispersed therein. The colloidal silica particles have an average particle size of 30 nm or smaller. The set of colloidal silica particles can be used simultaneously as fluorescence-labeling nanobeads. Also disclosed are: a fluorescent nano-material comprising the colloidal silica particle; a biochip using the colloidal silica particles; and an assay method using the colloidal silica particles.
