Abstract:
Provided are: a fluorine-containing ether composition that can impart excellent water and oil repellency to the surface of a substrate and that makes it possible to form a surface layer having excellent wear durability with respect to the water and oil repellency thereof; a coating liquid containing the fluorine-containing ether composition; an article having a surface layer formed from the fluorine-containing ether composition and a method for producing the article; and a compound.　The fluorine-containing ether composition is characterized by containing: a compound (A) having a poly(oxyfluoroalkylene) chain and a group (Y) in which a hydrolyzable group and/or a hydroxyl group is bonded to a silicon atom; and a compound (B) that does not include the group (Y) and that has a partial structure in which a poly(oxyfluoroalkylene) chain (wherein said poly(oxyfluoroalkylene) chain does not have a structure including 2 or more continuous oxyalkylene groups) and a polyoxyalkylene chain (wherein the number of carbon atoms in the alkylene group is 2 or more) are bonded via a linking group.
