Abstract:
A focal-plane shutter comprises: a base plate having a first opening; an auxiliary base plate having a second opening at a position corresponding to the first opening, the auxiliary base plate disposed at a prescribed distance from the base plate; a blade disposed between the base plate and the auxiliary base plate and switching between covering and uncovering the first opening and the second opening; and a drive unit for driving the blade. The base plate is formed by combining a first base plate whereon the drive unit is mounted and a second base plate having the first opening. The first base plate has a structure that enables the first base plate to combine with a plurality of the second base plates each having a different sized first opening.
