Abstract:
[Problem]For a focal position detection device (100) to accurately identify the focal position, even when atmospheric fluctuation is occurring. [Solution] A focal position detection device (100), provided with: a contrast evaluation value calculation means (43) for calculating a contrast evaluation value from each of a plurality of items of image data obtained by imaging a subject a plurality of number of times at a set exposure time while moving a focus lens within a search range along the optical axis direction; a focal position calculation means (44) for calculating the focal position from the respective focusing positions for each of the plurality of number of times the imaging was performed, and the contrast evaluation value calculated by the contrast evaluation value calculation means (43); a sensing means (45) for sensing an atmospheric fluctuation; and an exposure time setting means (46) for setting the exposure time for when the sensing means (45) senses an atmospheric fluctuation so as to be greater than the exposure time for when the sensing means (45) does not sense an atmospheric fluctuation.
