Disclosed is a foldable electronic device and a foldable housing assembly thereof. The foldable housing assembly comprises a first housing, a second housing and an antenna. The first housing is provided with a first electromagnetic band gap structure for generating a surface wave band gap in a first preset range. The second housing is rotatably connected to the first housing, and the first housing and the second housing can rotate relative to each other to be in a relatively overlapped state. The antenna is arranged on at least one of the first housing and the second housing. The foldable electronic device comprises the foldable housing assembly and a foldable screen. The foldable screen is connected to the first housing and the second housing and can be folded along with the relative rotation of the first housing and the second housing. According to the foldable electronic device, the first electromagnetic band gap structure is arranged on the first housing, so that electromagnetic isolation for a predetermined frequency band and between the first housing and the second housing can be realized to avoid signal attenuation of the antenna and enable enhancement of the antenna radiation efficiency and the signal stability.
