Abstract:
A motorcycle in which an engine unit arranged below a main frame extending back downward from a head pipe is suspended from a body frame including the main frame and a pair of left and right rear frames connected to the rear portion of the main frame and extending back upward. The shapes of the parts constituting the body frame are simplified while the number of the parts are reduced. For this purpose, flat portions (14d) confronting the side faces of the main frame (13) composed of a square pipe having a square section are provided at the front ends of the two rear frames (14) respectively, and there are directly attached to the side face of the main frame (13), flat portions (14d) of the two rear frames (14), a pivot plate (17) having at least flat plate portions (18) confronting the side faces of the main frame (13) and supporting a rear fork (21), and hunger plates (16) of which at least portions confronting the side faces of the main frame (13) are formed into a flat plate shape and supporting the engine unit.
