Abstract:
A fuel injection system that comprises: an accumulator vessel (11) that stores fuel at high pressure; and fuel injection valves (20) that are provided to each of a plurality of cylinders of an internal combustion engine and eject the high-pressure fuel that is inside the accumulator vessel. The fuel injection valves comprise control chambers (36, 46), a needle valve (31), and a pressure regulation valve (52). The fuel injection system also comprises a pressure reduction control part and a pressure reduction number setting part. When there is a pressure reduction request to reduce the pressure of the fuel inside the accumulator vessel, the pressure reduction control part performs pressure reduction drive control that electrifies at least one of the fuel injection valves to open the pressure regulation valve thereof and thereby reduces the pressure of the fuel inside the accumulator vessel without fuel being ejected from an ejection hole (34) of the electrified fuel injection valve. In accordance with the pressure reduction request, the pressure reduction number setting part sets the number of fuel injection valves for which the pressure reduction drive control is to be ordered. On the basis of the number of fuel injection valves set by the pressure reduction number setting part, the pressure reduction control part controls the electrification time of the fuel injection valves for which the pressure reduction drive control is performed.
