Abstract:
The invention relates to a gas-pressure-controlled breech system for a firearm equipped with a housing (1) and with a barrel (9), the breech system comprising: - a gas feed (19); and - a chamber (16), which can be filled with powder gases, is connected to the housing (1) and has a piston (15), which piston can slide parallel to the barrel axis in the chamber and is connected to a breechblock carrier (2) by means of a connecting strip (7), the breechblock carrier being kinematically coupled to a breechblock (3). The barrel (9) is mounted for free oscillation. Either the gas feed (19) is disposed with its gas removal opening in the transition cone between the cartridge chamber and the barrel bore, or the gas feed is disposed within a gas block (20), which is arranged around the barrel (9) in the manner of a sleeve and is spaced apart from the barrel, a gas passage opening (22) disposed in the barrel (9) being provided in the interior of the gas block (20), which gas passage opening is substantially aligned with the gas removal opening of the gas feed (19), and spring rings (21) being provided in the gas block (20), ahead of and behind the gas passage opening (22) in the barrel direction, in order to seal the space between the gas passage opening (22) and the gas removal opening, the spring rings (21) lying tangentially against the barrel (9) and being mounted with radial play in the gas block (20).
