Abstract:
Provided is a gate device that achieves smooth immigration inspection. The gate device comprises an acquisition unit, a verification request unit, and a control unit. The acquisition unit acquires biological information of a user to be inspected. The verification request unit requests a server device to verify the biological information of the user, the server device having the biological information of the user to be inspected and machine readable zone (MRZ) information, contained in a machine-readable area of a passport issued to the user, stored in association with each other. The control unit controls a gate so that the user to be inspected is allowed to pass through the gate when information is successfully read from an integrated circuit (IC) chip of the passport by using the MRZ information identified by the above verification.
