Abstract:
[Problem] The present invention addresses the problem of providing a technique of inhibiting ingress of scar tissue in treatment of a tendon or ligament, thereby promoting healing of cells in the tendon to efficiently restore the original function of the tendon. [Solution] A gel material that is for inhibiting expression of type-III collagen in therapy for damage to or rupture of a tendon or ligament, and that contains a polymer gel, the gel material being characterized in that the polymer gel is a hydrogel having a structure in which a three-dimensional reticulated structure is formed by crosslinking a hydrophilic polymer, the polymer content thereof is in the range of 1-5 wt%, and the elastic modulus thereof is in the range of 100-10000 Pa.
