Abstract:
Provided is a glass article manufacturing device whereby erosion of a refractory material can be suppressed and rapid startup of the device is made possible while cost is kept low, and whereby a glass article having few bubbles is obtained. A glass article manufacturing device 1 pertaining to the present invention, invented to overcome the above problems, has a melting furnace 3 for melting a glass raw material M to form molten glass G, and a throat 5 in which the molten glass G formed in the melting furnace flows, the glass article manufacturing device 1 being characterized in that the melting furnace 3 and the throat 5 are constituted from a refractory material containing a zirconia oxide, the mass ratio of the zirconia oxide included in the refractory material that constitutes the throat 5 being higher than the mass ratio of the zirconia oxide included in the refractory that constitutes the melting furnace 3.
