Abstract:

Provided is a glass fiber yarn connected body of which a connection is not released when tension is applied thereto, which can pass through a dice without problems after being impregnated with a resin, and from which a molded product having excellent appearance quality is obtained. This glass fiber yarn connected body 1 is provided with: glass fiber yarns 2, 3; and a connecting portion 5 in which a resin yarn 4 is wound around the end portions of the superimposed glass fiber yarns 2, 3. The connecting portion 5 has a width W1 of 20-40 mm. When the diameter R of the connecting portion, which is the sum of the thickness of the resin yarn 4 wound around the connecting portion 5 and the respective diameters of the glass fiber yarns 2, 3, is 500-5000 μm, and the glass fiber yarns 2, 3 each have a mass of 200-6000 tex, the ratio of the mass of the glass fiber yarns 2, 3 to the diameter R of the connecting portion is in a range of 0.32-2.00.
