Abstract:
The present invention provides a glass panel unit manufacturing method that can improve a heat insulating property of a glass panel unit. This glass panel unit (10) manufacturing method includes an assembly step, an evacuation step, and a sealing step. A low-emission film (22) is provided to one or both of a first glass sheet (200) and a second glass sheet (300). When the low-emission film (22) is heated at a temperature increase speed of 4°C/min prior to causing a peripheral wall (410) to melt, the ratio of the emission quantity of a noble gas emitted by the low-emission film (22) at the temperature at which a partition (420) deforms to the emission quantity of the noble gas emitted by the low-emission film (22) at 100°C is 2.0 or less.
