Abstract:
The present invention efficiently changes the orientation of a glass base material from a vertical orientation to a horizontal orientation and produces a glass plate efficiently. The invention comprises: the step (STEP-1) of transporting via a first transport device 10 a glass base material G held in a vertical orientation by chuck units 11; the step (STEP-2) of causing, in a tilting stage 20 having a table unit 21 that can be tilted between a vertical orientation and a horizontal orientation and whereon the glass base material G is to be disposed, the table unit 21 to be set in a vertical orientation and, in that state, transferring the glass base material G from the first transport device 10 to the table unit 21, and causing the table unit 21 to tilt to the horizontal orientation, thereby changing the orientation of the glass base material G to the horizontal orientation; and the step (STEP-4) of transferring from the tilting stage 20 to a second transport device 30 the horizontally-oriented glass base material G.
