Title:
GRINDING MACHINE EMBODIED AS A UNIVERSAL CYLINDRICAL/NON-CYLINDRICAL GRINDING MACHINE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO2005123339
Kind Code:
A3
Abstract:
The invention relates to a grinding machine comprising a displacement drive for a column saddle (25), said drive being provided with two guiding rails extending in recesses with the slideway linings (23, 24) of the column saddle (25). Two motor transmission units (26, 26A) are arranged on the column saddle (25), the driven toothed wheels of said units co-operating with a toothed rack (34) extending in the direction of the standard Z-axis (double-headed arrow 38). Said two toothed wheels of the motor transmission units (26, 26A) are braced on the toothed rack. The inventive embodiment enables a highly precise positioning in the direction of the Z-axis. A grinding spindle head (39) comprising a grinding wheel (40) is arranged on the column saddle (25). Said grinding spindle head (39) can be displaced in the direction of the X-axis (double-headed arrow 41).
