Abstract:
A grouser structure (20) for use on an outer surface of a continuous track belt (22) to provide traction and shock absorption, the grouser structure (20) including a grouser body (26) that defines a grouser chamber (38) and a spline element (28) positioned within the grouser chamber (38). In one chamber peripheral surface and the outer spline peripheral surface. In, another preferred embodiment the base (36) of the grouser body (26) is solid or contains other structure to prevent the first body side leg (34a) and the second body side leg (34b) from spreading. In yet another preferred embodiment the spline element (28) is a solid reinforcement spline element. In still another preferred embodiment the spline element (28) is associated with an extension section (54) to which an ice cleat (56) may be functionally attached.
