Abstract:
Provided is a guide wire which has excellent torque transmission, and has a distal end that has excellent flexibility and sufficient strength. A guide wire 10 includes a core wire 2, a torque tube 4 which has a base end that is connected to a distal end of the core wire 2, and an insertion distal end portion 6 which is connected to a distal end of the torque tube 4. The guide wire 10 may further have a helical body 8 which is arranged outside the torque tube 4 and has a distal end that is connected to the insertion distal end portion 6. The torque tube 4 is a hollow member that includes a tubular component layer 11 which is formed by a plurality of wires wound around in the same direction in a spiral and combined in parallel.
