Abstract:
A hard disk drive (1) with a built-in thin substrate pertaining to the present invention comprises: a disc-shaped magnetic disk (30) having a through-hole at the center; a spindle motor (20) inserted in the through-hole of the magnetic disk (30) and co-rotatably supporting the magnetic disk (30); and an aluminum alloy-made base plate (10) for supporting the spindle motor (20). The base plate (10) has a metallographic structure in which secondary-phase particles having a longest diameter of 10 µm or longer have a perimeter of 3 mm/mm2 or longer, and the number of secondary-phase particles having a longest diameter of 500 µm or longer is 0/mm2.
