Abstract:
A caterpillar (20) is supported at the root end thereof by a body-side mounting portion (30) and at the tip end thereof by a turning member (33), which is turnably mounted on a door-side mounting portion (50). This door-side mounting portion (50) is equipped with a bias means (65) for applying a turning force to pull the tip end of the caterpillar (20) in the extending direction. When a slide door (15) is at a fully closed position (A), the turning member (33) is turned against the biasing force so that the caterpillar (20) takes a position, at which the caterpillar (20) extends substantially straight from the root end. At the beginning of opening the slide door (15), the turning member (33) is caused, when the caterpillar (20) becomes slightly loose, to turn in the direction to pull the tip end of the caterpillar (20) by the biasing force, so that the intermediate position of the caterpillar (20) takes a shape to protrude in a predetermined direction so as to begin the normal curved deformation.
