Abstract:
The present invention increases the usefulness of a headlight device for switching an irradiation area, without an operation by a rider of a tilting vehicle, in accordance with whether an oncoming vehicle and/or a leading vehicle is present ahead of the tilting vehicle. When the tilting vehicle is turning in the leftward direction and an oncoming vehicle and/or leading vehicle is present ahead of the tilting vehicle, a control device illuminates at least one upper left light source so as to maintain a state in which at least an upper left irradiation area is formed, to a greater extent than when the tilting vehicle is turning in the leftward direction and no oncoming vehicle and/or leading vehicle is present ahead of the tilting vehicle. When the tilting vehicle is turning in the rightward direction and an oncoming vehicle and/or leading vehicle is present ahead of the tilting vehicle, the control device illuminates at least one upper right light source so as to maintain a state in which at least an upper right irradiation area is formed, to a greater extent than when the tilting vehicle is turning in the rightward direction and no oncoming vehicle and/or leading vehicle is present ahead of the tilting vehicle.
