Abstract:
A heat exchanger according to the present disclosure comprises: a plurality of heat transfer tubes; a distributor that is connected to the ends of the plurality of heat transfer tubes and distributes a refrigerant to the plurality of heat transfer tubes; a control valve that changes the amount of refrigerant flowing from the distributor into each of the plurality of heat transfer tubes by changing the degree of opening; a void sensor that is installed in at least one of the plurality of heat transfer tubes, measures the state of the flowing refrigerant at a plurality of measurement positions on the cross section that intersects the flow path in the one heat transfer tube, and provides different outputs according to whether the flowing refrigerant is in the gas phase or in the liquid phase; and a control unit that calculates the ratio of the gas or liquid phase of the refrigerant in the cross section from the output of the void sensor at the plurality of measurement positions and, upon determining that the ratio in one heat transfer tube is different from that in another heat transfer tube, controls the opening degree of the control valve so that the ratio of the gas or liquid phase in the one heat transfer tube approaches the ratio in the other heat transfer tube. Thus, it is possible to suppress the deterioration of the performance of the heat exchanger.
