Abstract:
Provided is a heat exchanger (100) including: a hollow columnar honeycomb structure (10); a first outer cylinder member (20) that is fitted to the surface of an outer circumferential wall (12) of the columnar honeycomb structure (10); an inner cylinder member (30) that is fitted to the surface of an inner circumferential wall (11) of the columnar honeycomb structure (10); an upstream cylindrical member (40) that has a section disposed on a radially inner side of the inner cylinder member (30) with a gap therebetween so as to form a first-fluid flow path; a cylindrical connecting member (50) that connects an upstream end section (21a) of the first outer cylinder member (20) and an upstream side of the upstream cylindrical member (40) so as to form the first-fluid flow path; and a downstream cylindrical member (60) that is connected to a downstream end section (21b) of the first outer cylinder member (20) and that has a section disposed on a radially outer side of the inner cylinder member (30) with a gap therebetween so as to form the first-fluid flow path. The inner cylinder member (30) has a tapered section (32) that is reduced in the diameter from the position of a second end surface (13b) of the columnar honeycomb structure (10) toward a downstream end section (31b). The percentage difference of the inner diameter of the downstream end section (31b) of the inner cylinder member (30) with respect to the inner diameter of a downstream end section (41b) of the upstream cylindrical member (40) falls within the range of ±20%.
