Abstract:
The main purpose of the present invention is to provide: a heat-sensitive recording medium that utilizes a chromogenic reaction between a dye precursor and a developer, wherein a colored image is tinged with a metallic luster, and a gold metal tone with a vivid appearance is exhibited; or a heat-sensitive, wherein a yellowish or gold metal colored tone and a colored tone different than the yellowish or gold metal colored are displayed, the color optical density in each of the colored tones is high, and a recording part has excellent color separation properties. The heat-sensitive recording medium is provided with a heat-sensitive recording layer containing a dye precursor and a developer on a substrate. The dye precursor provides a yellowish tone. (a) The substrate has a metallic luster, and provides a metallic luster to the surface of a base material that does not have a metallic luster, and/or, (b) the dye precursor that provides the yellowish tone is a first dye precursor, and, in addition, the heat-sensitive recording medium contains a second dye precursor that provides a different tone than that of the first dye precursor, and the first dye precursor is a compound having a specific pyridine skeleton. The second dye precursor (b1) has the form of fine composite particles containing the second dye precursor and a polymer compound, or (b2) has a melting point of not less than 200°C.
