Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to form an image on a major surface and a side surface of a card. A heat transfer printing apparatus is provided with: a first supply unit that supplies an intermediate transfer medium in which a transfer layer is provided on one surface of a support body so as to to be releasable from the support body; a second supply unit that supplies a heat transfer sheet in which a color material layer is provided on one surface of a base material; a printing unit that heats the heat transfer sheet on the basis of image data and transfers ink of the color material layer onto the transfer layer to form an image; and a transfer unit that heats the intermediate transfer medium and transfers the transfer layer on which the image has been formed to the major surface and the side surface of the card.
