Title:
HELICOPTER TOY
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2009/154044
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Provided is a helicopter toy which goes down automatically, when it approaches an upper obstacle, to avoid a collision. The helicopter toy (1) is remotely maneuvered with signals from a transmitter. The helicopter toy (1) comprises a frame (10), rotor shafts (30 and 40) installed to protrude upward from the frame (10) and rotationally driven by a main rotor drive motor mounted on the frame (10), rotor blades (34 and 44) installed on the rotor shafts (30 and 40) such that the rotor blades orthogonally intersect the rotational center axes of the rotor shafts (30 and 40), a detecting means (2) mounted on the frame (10), and a control unit. The detecting means (2) is arranged upward of the frame (10), and is constituted to generate a signal according to the distance from an obstacle existing above the frame (10). The control unit is constituted to decide the rotating speed of a main rotor driving motor (80) on the basis of the signal from the detecting means (2), thereby generating a predetermined control signal and sending out the control signal to the main rotor driving motor (80).
