Abstract:

Provided is a helmet that is removable from the head of a user (U) reliably and quickly by a third person. The helmet (1) according to the present invention has: a helmet body shell (3) for protecting the head of a user (U) and having an insertion opening (2) which is open downward; a shock absorption body (4) that is disposed on the inner circumferential side of the helmet body shell (3) and reduces shock to the head of the user (U); and a cushioning pad (5) that is disposed on the inner circumferential side of the shock absorption body (4) and fills the gap between the shock absorption body (4) and the head. The cushioning pad (5) has an emergency escape pad (12) at a position along an opening edge of the insertion opening (2). The emergency escape pad (12) has a pad bag (15) having an empty space inside, a pad body (14) housed in the pad bag (15), and a pad removal part (16) that allows the pad body (14) to be removed from the pad bag (15) in a state of being attached to the opening edge of the insertion opening (2).
