The embodiments of the present invention relate to a high dynamic range (HDR) image composition method and device, an image processing chip, and an aerial camera. Said method comprises: acquiring multiple images to be composed having different exposure times; calculating the average brightness of said images; determining the image brightness type of said image according to the average brightness; calculating a brightness difference between adjacent pixel points in the same frame of said images; calculating, according to the brightness difference, an inter-frame difference of different frames of said images at the same pixel point position; determining, according to the inter-frame difference, a motion state of said images at the pixel point position; and weighting and compositing, according to the image brightness type and the motion state, said images into a corresponding high dynamic range image. The present invention adaptively adjusts the weight according to the motion state and the image brightness type, thereby avoiding the problems of trailing of moving object and decrease in picture resolution during the composition of HDR images.
