Title:
HIGH-EFFICIENCY COPPER REMOVAL BIOELECTROCHEMICAL WATER TREATMENT SYSTEM
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/119755
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
Disclosed is a high-efficiency copper removal bioelectrochemical water treatment system. The system is based on a microbial fuel cell and a membrane bioreactor technology. The system adopts a sacrificial aluminum anode and the microbial fuel cell which provides an external power source to achieve the micro-electrolysis of aluminum. Aluminum ions dissolved by the micro-electrolysis form aluminum hydrated ions under the influence of water molecules. Aluminum hydrated ions are a natural high-efficiency flocculant which achieve flocculation purification of organic wastewater and are a key factor for flocculation, precipitation, and removal of copper ions. The flocculant is self-generating and flocculant does not need to be added. The flocculation reaction process is mild, and the flocculation and removal efficiency of copper ions is high. By means of filtration and sieving of a bifunctional conductive membrane, copper ions can be completely removed from a cathode chamber of the system. The copper ion concentration of the system effluent meets the national first-class discharge standard, and the copper ions can be recycled.
