Provided are a high-frequency treatment device and a high-frequency treatment method with which it is possible to perform efficient heating over a wide area. This high-frequency treatment device 1 is provided with: output units 41, 42 for outputting high-frequency power; at least four electrodes 21-24 that are connected to the output units 41, 42 and that are to be disposed on a treatment subject; a switching unit 50 that is provided between the output units 41, 42 and the electrodes 21-24 and that performs switching as to which electrode set is to receive high-frequency electric current among electrode sets each including a combination of at least two of the electrodes 21-24; and a control unit 90 that performs control on the switching unit 50 so as to switch, at a specific cycle, between a first state in which the high-frequency electric current is passed to at least two first electrode sets during treatment and a second state in which the high-frequency electric current is passed to a second electrode set comprising a specific electrode included in one of the first electrode sets and a specific electrode included in the other first electrode set.
